Karen Costello was born in Watford City, ND, and moved to Billings MT as a young child. Karen is an experienced healthcare leader, with over 23 years in various leadership roles. She knows how important a well-run organization with highly engaged caregivers is for their community. Karen started her healthcare career directly out of high school in the field of Radiologic Technology. Karen was a hospital-based student for her Radiology training, and then later attended Weber State University and MSU-Billings. She has worked in a myriad of roles over the four decades of her career and became the President of Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, MT in late 2019.

Karen enjoys the small town of Miles City after spending the bulk of her career in the larger community of Billings, MT. Being part of a small town and a small organization has allowed her to be involved in every aspect of the organization and get to know the caregivers on a first name basis. She also enjoys the resources of the larger parent organization of Intermountain Health, which provides a greater level of support for capital projects, education, and being able to be part a large group of talented and experienced executive leaders.

Karen is actively engaged in the community, with board positions on the Chamber of Commerce, Miles City Economic Development, Rotary, MT Health Network, and the MT Hospital Association. She also serves on the strategic planning committee of the local community college.

Karen enjoys spending her free time reading, running, camping, boating, tropical vacations, and spending as much time as possible with her two grandchildren. She is married to her husband of 43 years and has two grown children.
